You will manage mechanics and maintenance staff, implement preventative maintenance programs, oversee inspections and repairs, maintain records, and collaborate with external providers to secure parts and services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in supervisory or management role in fleet maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
• Experience budgeting and cost optimization.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency with fleet management software and MS Office.
• Knowledge of South African transportation regulations relevant to Durban.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance schedules for the entire fleet.
• Supervise and manage the daily activities of the maintenance team, including mechanics, technicians, and support staff.
• Oversee vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repairs, ensuring all work is completed to high standards and within budget.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repair activities, and inventory of parts and supplies.
