Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Fleet Manager to oversee a large commercial vehicle fleet. The role is remote with an operational base near Durban, focusing on safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness across the delivery network.

You will manage maintenance schedules, monitor driver performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and implement best practices in fleet management. The ideal candidate has strong leadership, sound mechanical knowledge of commercial vehicles, and experience

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Fleet Management or related logistics supervisory role.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance, repair, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in using fleet management software and data analysis tools.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage remote teams and operations effectively.
• A valid driver's license; commercial licenses are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of a large commercial vehicle fleet, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and repair costs.
• Monitor driver behavior and performance, providing coaching and enforcing company policies.
• Ensure full compliance with all national and provincial transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Oversee vehicle acquisition, disposal, and licensing processes.
• Utilize fleet management software for tracking, reporting, and analysis of key performance indicators.
