Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Commercial Vehicle Technician or Heavy Duty Mechanic.
• Trade certification (e.g., NQF Level 3 or equivalent) in automotive or diesel mechanics.
• Strong diagnostic skills and proficiency with specialized repair tools.
• Knowledge of various commercial vehicle makes and models.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in commercial vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance services per manufacturer specifications and company schedules.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to identify problems and required repairs.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Collaborate with parts department to order components and manage inventory.
