Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Automotive Electrician to join a Durban-based repair facility. You will diagnose, repair and maintain complex electrical systems across modern vehicles, using advanced diagnostic equipment to tackle issues from batteries to ECUs and infotainment.

The role offers exposure to a range of vehicle makes, with opportunities to work on state-of-the-art diagnostics and specialized tools in a collaborative team environment in Durban.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Automotive Electrician or strong electrical repair background.
• Solid understanding of DC electrical theory and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and testing tools.
• Knowledge of CAN bus systems and ECUs.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults in vehicle electrical systems, including wiring and modules.
• Install and service automotive electronic components such as alarms and navigation devices.
• Use diagnostic equipment to pinpoint electrical issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems.
• Interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Collaborate with mechanical staff to integrate repairs.
