EdUpStairs in Durban is seeking a Water Resources Manager to implement compliance and enforcement under the National Water Act. The role requires a National Diploma in Natural Sciences and knowledge of water resource management, with a willingness to travel and work long hours when needed.

The position offers a salary range aligned with local government grades (OSD) and requires strong communication, reporting, and presentation skills.

Qualifications

• A National Diploma in Natural Sciences or equivalent.
• One year experience in Water Resources Management; internship or experiential learning is an advantage.
• Valid unexpired driver's license is required.
• Knowledge of the National Water Act, 1998 and sector related legislation.
• Knowledge of integrated water resource management and water use investigations.
• Excellent communication, verbal, report writing and presentation skills.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability and willingness to travel and work long hours where necessary.

Responsabilités

• Implement compliance and enforcement activities of the unit.
• Ensure enforcement of the National Water Act.
• Conduct compliance inspections against legislation, policies and licenses and prepare inspection reports.
• Provide support to education and awareness components to promote compliance.
• Conduct investigations of reported unlawful water use and enforce actions.
• Prepare information, reports and evidence for court applications.
• Assess and review technical reports and action plans to monitor compliance.
