Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an International Freight Forwarder in Durban to coordinate ocean and air freight, prepare customs documentation, and liaise with clients and partners globally. You will negotiate rates, monitor shipments, and ensure compliance with trade regulations.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in international freight forwarding, strong knowledge of seafreight and airfreight, and proficiency with ERP systems.

Qualifications

3-5 years of experience in international freight forwarding or import/export operations.
In-depth knowledge of sea and air freight procedures.
Familiarity with customs regulations for South Africa and major trade lanes.
Experience with shipping software and ERP systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Coordinate international ocean and air freight shipments from origin to destination.
Prepare and process customs clearance documentation including bills of lading and invoices.
Liaise with clients, overseas agents, brokers and carriers to ensure smooth processing.
Obtain freight quotes and negotiate rates with carriers and vendors.
Track shipments and provide timely updates to clients.
