Job summary

SA Metal Group in Secunda is seeking skilled Code 14 drivers to join our team. You will drive a range of code 14 vehicles, perform daily inspections, and ensure safe loading/unloading of materials in line with road and safety regulations.

The role requires a valid Code 14 license with PDP and at least five years of driving experience, including manual transmission. Past experience with mounted grab cranes is a plus, and the ideal candidate will be practical, safety-conscious, and reliable.

Qualifications

• Valid, unendorsed Code 14 license with valid PDP.
• 5 years code 14 driving experience.
• Hands on and practical approach to the job.
• Experience driving vehicles with manual gearboxes.
• Operating a Mounted Grab Crane will be an advantage.
• Experienced in reversing a draw-bar trailer required.

Responsibilities

• Drive Code 14 vehicles and manage vehicle and load.

• Adhere to Road Traffic Act and safety regulations.

The Secunda Branch requires Code 14 Drivers who will be responsible for driving a variety of code 14 vehicles. Tasks include, amongst others:

• Responsible for the vehicle and load.
• Daily inspection of the vehicle and to report all faults.
• Loading and off-loading various materials and equipment
• Ensure adherence to the Road Traffic Act
• Ensure the safety of other road users
• Abide by the regulations as set out in Occupational Health and Safety Act, company policies and the regulations of the road.

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE

• Valid, unendorsed Code 14 license with valid PDP
• 5 years code 14 driving experience
• Hands on and practical approach to the job
• Experience driving vehicles with manual gearboxes.
• Operating a Mounted Grab Crane will be an advantage.
