Placements24 seeks a motivated Drilling Engineer to join their technical team in Benoni. You will lead planning, execution, and optimization of drilling operations, coordinating with supervisors, geologists, and service providers to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective results.

The role requires strong knowledge of drilling hydraulics, well control, and directional drilling, with experience in planning and executing complex well programs and using industry software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of oil and gas drilling engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of drilling hydraulics, well control, and cementation.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan well programs including casing, cement, directional plans, and drilling fluid strategies.
• Calculate and specify drilling equipment and materials to meet operations.
• Prepare daily drilling reports and monitor performance against plan.
• Identify and troubleshoot problems such as lost circulation, kicks, and stuck pipe.
• Manage drilling costs and seek efficiency improvements.
• Ensure HSSE compliance throughout the drilling process.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

• Strong knowledge of drilling hydraulics, well control principles, and cementation.
• Experience with directional drilling planning and execution is required.
• Proficiency in drilling software and tools (e.g., WellView, StressCheck).
