Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Logistics is required.
• Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel and Windows.
• 3-4 years logistics experience or similar field.
• 1-3 years supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Daily driver evaluation and debriefing, including monitoring performance.
• Ensure driver’s availability.
• Fleet control and delivery planning, including updates, ETAs and ensuring routes are followed.
• Promote a good company image with customers and the public.
• Maintain a 99% OTIF and service efficiency rate and report on exceptions.
• Ensure fleet departs on time daily and manage yard turnaround times.
• Document returned stock daily (Pods, picking slips, GRV queries).
• Manage fleet tracking system and yard/field housekeeping.
• Liaise with internal sales regarding delivery delays and cost control.
• Daily fleet inspections and weekly OT analysis.
• Accident/incident reporting and other transport/delivery duties.
• Overtime may be required; ability to work unusual hours.

Job description

KZN Branch for a Distribution Team Leader reporting to the Distribution Manager.

This person will be responsible for, amongst other duties:

Daily driver evaluation and debriefing, including monitoring performance.

Ensure driver’s availability

Fleet control and delivery planning, including updates, eta’s and ensuring that no vehicles deviate from designated routes

Always promote a good company image, with respect to the customers and the public.

Ensuring a 99% OTIF and service efficiency rate and reporting on exceptions.

Ensuring fleet departs on time daily and manage turnaround times in the yard and at customers.

Ensure that all returned stock is documented daily.

Pod’s, picking slips, GRV queries and other admin functions

Management of the fleet tracking system

Housekeeping (Fleet / Trailer and Distribution yard)

Late / non delivery reports

Truck service scheduling

Liaising with internal sales re: delivery delays etc.

Daily Fleet inspections

Weekly OT analysis

Accident/ Incident reporting

Various other transport and delivery related functions

Yard Control and Receiving

Management of costs within budget (fuel / wages and other operational costs)

In order to be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

A Tertiary qualification in Logistics.

Computer literacy (MS WORD, EXCEL, WINDOWS)

3-4 years Logistics experience or in a similar field

1-3 years Supervisory experience essential
