Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a team focused on distribution network operations and maintenance in Soweto, Gauteng. Your work will cover planning, design, and execution of upgrades for low and medium voltage networks to ensure safe, reliable electricity delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years in utility environments, with expertise in distribution systems, safety compliance, and effective collaboration with field

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical distribution networks or similar utility environment.
• Strong understanding of low and medium voltage distribution systems, overhead lines, cables, and substations.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations for utility operations.
• Ability to work independently in a field-oriented environment and on-call readiness.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and oversee maintenance and upgrade projects for the distribution network.
• Conduct site inspections to assess asset condition and identify improvements.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, safety standards, and environmental policies.
• Troubleshoot faults and outages within the distribution system.
• Assist in network expansion planning to meet growing demand.
• Prepare reports, cost estimates, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with field crews and stakeholders for safe execution.
• Procure materials and equipment for network maintenance and upgrades.
• Analyze network data to identify trends and improve reliability.
• Respond to customer inquiries with technical support on network issues.
