Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer for a remote-first role based in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. You will design and maintain cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks across major cloud platforms to enable fast, reliable software delivery.

You should have strong IaC, containerization, monitoring, and security practices, plus a collaborative mindset to work closely with development and QA teams in a distributed environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years in a DevOps or related role.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, CircleCI).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Strong experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
• Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices in a cloud environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, crucial for a remote role.
