Job summary

Placements24 in Vereeniging is seeking a proactive DevOps Engineer to join the IT operations team. You will bridge software development and IT operations, automating build, test and deployment processes to improve reliability and scalability.

Responsibilities include designing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation with Ansible/Chef/Puppet, managing cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and container orchestration with Kubernetes, and applying security best practices to deployment lifecycles.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps or similar
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Scripting: Python, Bash; knowledge of networking and security fundamentals

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated software delivery.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure automation scripts (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
• Monitor performance and reliability; proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure) and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize performance.
• Apply security best practices throughout the build, test and deploy lifecycle.
