Placements24 is seeking a Development Officer to advance its mission in Port Elizabeth by building relationships with donors, corporations, and foundations. The role focuses on securing funding through strategic donor engagement and fundraising initiatives to sustain and grow the organization’s impact in the Eastern Cape.

The successful candidate will lead fundraising plans, manage donor communications, and coordinate events, while collaborating with programs to ensure alignment with priorities

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare compelling grant proposals, sponsorship proposals, and donor communications.
• Maintain accurate donor database records and ensure timely acknowledgment of gifts.

Requirements

• Proven track record in fundraising, development, or a related role, preferably in the non-profit sector.
• Strong understanding of various fundraising methodologies, including major gifts, grants, and corporate sponsorships.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse donor constituencies.
• Familiarity with the Port Elizabeth community and its philanthropic landscape is advantageous.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
