Job summary

The Recruitment Center is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a BSC or BTech (or equivalent) to oversee design, development and drawing activities for crane components. You will prepare GA drawings for tender purposes and coordinate with the CD, Sales, and Production to meet criteria and deadlines.

You will also verify design calculations with Pro Eng when required, consult with customers on ongoing projects, and progress jobs through Sales and Customer channels.

Qualifications

• BSC/BTech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in preparing GA drawings for tender/production.
• Ability to consult with customers and progress design work.

Responsibilities

• Takes responsibility for smooth running of design, development and drawing activities.
• Submission of design calculations for verification to Pro Eng when required.
• Receives and progresses jobs for Sales Department and/or customers.
• Consults with customers on current projects.
• Prepares GA drawings for tender purposes, as requested by the CD, the Sales Department or the customer.
• Obtains signed customer approval for completed GA drawings before issuing documentation to Production.
• Advises customers on design criteria and delivery dates, in conjunction with Production.
• Prepares CAD drawings for components and crane assemblies for production/internal use.
• Produces all relevant drawings and final specification sheets for Production Controller or Sales Department.
• Ensures that drawings are complete and available by due date.
• Alters drawing to conform to changed customer requirements after discussion with Production/Sales/Management.
• Produces drawings for upgraded components and crane assemblies.
• Conducts back-engineering projects for components and crane assemblies

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Takes responsibility, for the smooth running of the Company’s design, development and drawing activities.

• Submission of design calculations for verification to Pro Eng when required.

• Receives and progresses jobs for Sales Department and/or customers.

• Consults with customers on current projects.

• Prepares GA drawings for tender purposes, as requested by the CD, the Sales Department or the customer.

• Obtains signed customer approval for completed GA drawings, derived from design criteria provided by the CD or the Sales Department, prior to issuing documentation to Production.

• Advises customers on design criteria and delivery dates, in conjunction with Production.

• Prepares CAD drawings for components and crane assemblies, to be manufactured in the Production Departments, for both external customers and internal production.

• Produces all relevant detailed drawings, layout drawings, Parts Lists and final Specification Sheets for issuing to the Production Controller or Sales Department.

• Ensures that drawings are complete and available by due date.

• Alters drawing to conform to changed customer requirements, after discussion with Production personnel, Sales Department or Management.

• Produces drawings for upgraded components and crane assemblies.
