Job summary

SGS Bateman's multidisciplinary engineering team provides integrated design services for processing plants. This role focuses on producing accurate design drawings and unencumbered 3D models to support project execution.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years' experience in discipline drawing/draughting within mineral processing or petrochemical plant environments and is proficient with AutoCAD and related CAE tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in discipline-specific drawing design/draughting within mineral processing or petrochemical plant projects.
• Experience balanced between feasibility studies and project execution work.
• Technical Draughting - generate graphical deliverables from engineering designs.
• CAE Software - use software including AutoCAD and related tools.
• Engineering and Draughting - knowledge of models and drafting environments.
• Legislation & Standards - knowledge of sector-specific laws and standards.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate design drawings, documents and detailed 3D models for projects.
• Utilise filing and numbering systems; manage documentation.
• Adhere to company standards and procedures during design work.

Job Description

To produce accurate design drawings that will ensure successful project execution.

Documents or accurate unencumbered 3D models

• Utilise computerised filing and numbering system
• Generate design drawings, documents and detailed 3D models requiring some rectification and back drafting following checking.

Perform tasks in compliance with Company Systems, Standards and Procedures

• Adhere to standards

Promote the company’s image and team cohesion through effective communication and liaison

• Actively promote the Company's professional image, both internally & externally.
• Build an ongoing service relationship with contractors and vendors to enhance Company image.

Manage administration

• Multiple discipline drawing office practice certificate or equivalent

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• A proven track record minimum of 2 years’ experience in discipline specific drawing design/draughting within a mineral processing or petrochemical plant projects environment, is required for this position.
• Experience should ideally be balanced between feasibility studies and project execution work.
• Technical Draughting - To generate graphical deliverables from an engineering design
• CAE Software - Ability to use software including setting up systems, procedures and guidelines e.g. AutoCAD
• Engineering and Draughting - Knowledge of models and/or draughting environment including applications/interfaces and products across the disciplines
• Legislation & Standards - Knowledge of sector specific law and knowledge standard specifications and the ability to integrate these standards
• Seldom interfaces with other drawing office disciplines to resolve matters/clashes/interfaces
• Waits for work/information to be supplied by others
• Executes tasks that are assigned without questioning incorrect/sub-optimal designs/solutions
• Not familiar with project and company success drivers
• Meets most deadlines most of the time
• Able to work independently but requires regular supervision and monitoring
