City of Cape Town, Corporate Services Facilities Management, is seeking a qualified Professional Engineer or Technologist with a BEng/BSc Eng/BTech in Mechanical or Electrical engineering and 5–8 years of relevant experience. The incumbent must be eligible under GMR and OHSA requirements.

The role oversees depot/worksite management, planning, budgeting, supervision, tender/contract administration, and asset management to ensure safe, compliant and efficient facilities operations.

Formación

• Must hold B Eng, BSc Eng or B Tech (Mechanical or Electrical).
• Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist with ECSA.
• Eligible for appointment under the General Machinery Regulations (GMR) under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• 5 - 8 years relevant experience.
• Proven supervisory skills.

Responsabilidades

• Depot and Worksite Management: Co-ordinates tasks and activities with monitoring and reporting.
• Resource Planning and Control: Plans, prioritises and schedules Project, Maintenance and Refurbishment work.
• Monitors and evaluates progress regarding repair, construction, installation and maintenance work.
• Financial Management: Developing and managing comprehensive budgets aligned with the Department's goals.
• Supervision and Control: Co-ordinates and controls tasks and personnel performance and productivity.
• Tender and Contract Management: Management and administration of contracts, tenders and SLAs, including related functions.
• Administrative tasks: Updating and maintaining records related to project and refurbishment operations.
• Asset management: Responsibility for the management of all immovable and movable assets within portfolio.

Educación

B Eng, BSc Eng or B Tech (Mechanical or Electrical)

Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist with ECSA

Eligible under GMR (OHSA)
