Job summary

Tiger Brands is looking for a depot management leader to drive sales and efficient distribution from the Ulundi depot. You will build markets, survey routes, and ensure shelves are stocked correctly to achieve optimal on-shelf availability and delivery performance.

In addition, you will manage expenses, HR practices, health and safety, site maintenance and fleet operations to sustain operational excellence in a fast-moving consumer goods environment.

Qualifications

• Five years sales and depot management experience in an FMCG environment.
• Grade 12 completed; degree or diploma preferred for advanced roles.

Responsibilities

• Achieve bread and Tinkie sales targets for depot and identify new markets.
• Conduct route surveys, ensure on-time in-full deliveries with quality products.
• Coordinate in-store promotions and manage depot expenses, driver balances and settlements.
• Oversee HR, safety, site housekeeping, security and fleet operations.
• Manage stock rotation, returns, and wastage with FIFO discipline.

Manage the Tiger’s distribution depot

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Sales Management

• Achieve bread and Tinkie sales targets for depot
• Identify and develop new markets
• Conduct route surveys and capture all requirements on route riding App.
• Work with customers to ensure shelves are not under or over stocked.
• Ensure on time in full deliveries with a quality product.
• Coordinate in-store promotions.

Financial management

• Expense management
• Conduct route Viability surveys.
• Wage and overtime cost management
• Manage driver balances, daily settlements and POD controls in line with company requirements.
• Driver cash deposits are done timeously and in full as per company requirements.

Human Resources Management

• Performance management of drivers and VA’s.
• Manage conflict resolution
• Oversee the consistent application, enforcement and management of discipline at the depot
• Ensure compliance to relevant employment legislation and company policies

Health and Safety

• Ensure compliance to OHS act.
• Ensure compliance to any other regulations e.g., Covid-19
• On time reporting and investigation of all incidents and accidents

Site Management

• Ensure that the housekeeping is maintained on the site
• Report any structural, electrical or sewage defects on the site to the landlord and Bakery Manager.
• Inspect and sign off any work conducted by outside contractors.
• Assets management on site
• Crate control

Security

• Oversee security on site
• Ensure security do proper stock verification.
• Ensure security only allow authorized people on site with your approval.
• Ensure security only allow assets to leave the site with your approval.
• Security to identify any staff members under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Fleet Management

• Ensure daily truck checks are conducted by drivers.
• Only allow authorised drivers to operate company vehicles.
• Truck cleanliness
• Report any defects to the Fleet Manager.
• Fuel usage to be monitored and exceptions reported to the Fleet manager.

Stock Management

• Balance stock and returns daily
• First in first out stock rotation.
• No excess stock on truck
• Returns within target.
• Minimal damages

WHAT YOU WILL RBING TO THE TABLE:

Experience

• Five years sales and depot management experience in an FMCG environment
• Grade 12
• Degree or diploma preferred
