About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and experienced Delivery Supervisor to oversee the transportation of temperature-sensitive goods in Port Elizabeth . This role is critical for ensuring the quality and integrity of perishable products from warehouse to customer. You will lead a team of drivers, manage delivery schedules, and implement strict protocols for handling and transporting chilled and frozen items. The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of cold chain logistics and a commitment to operational excellence. This position demands meticulous attention to detail and strong leadership skills in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of a team of delivery drivers handling perishable goods.


• Ensure all deliveries are completed on time while maintaining the required temperature conditions throughout transit.


• Monitor vehicle refrigeration units and coordinate maintenance to prevent spoilage.


• Implement and enforce strict hygiene and safety standards for drivers and vehicles.


• Manage delivery routes and schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize transit times.


• Train new drivers on the specific requirements for handling perishable products and operating refrigerated vehicles.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisory role within logistics or transportation , specifically with perishable goods.


• Knowledge of cold chain logistics and temperature control requirements for various food products.


• Valid driver's license (Code 10 preferred) and a clean driving record.


• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate drivers.


• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities to handle logistical challenges.


• Familiarity with delivery scheduling software and GPS tracking systems.
