Placements24 is seeking a DeFi Protocol Developer to design, build, and deploy secure DeFi protocols from a remote-first setup. You will work on lending, trading, and asset management protocols with a focus on security and scalability.

You will collaborate with a global team, tackle auditing and optimization tasks, and contribute to tokenomics and documentation while staying abreast of industry developments. Port Elizabeth or remote work are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience developing smart contracts with Solidity and frameworks like Hardhat or Truffle.
• In-depth understanding of DeFi concepts including AMMs, lending protocols, stablecoins, and yield optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy secure smart contracts for DeFi protocols.
• Implement core logic for DEXs, lending platforms, yield farming, and other DeFi apps.
• Optimize smart contract performance and gas efficiency across major networks.
• Collaborate with product managers, economists, and engineers to define new DeFi features.
• Conduct code reviews, security audits, and vulnerability assessments of protocol code.
• Stay informed about DeFi trends and blockchain tech advancements.
• Contribute to tokenomics design discussions and economic modeling.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough code reviews, security audits, and vulnerability assessments of protocol code.
• Stay informed about the latest advancements and trends in the DeFi ecosystem and blockchain technology.
• Participate in tokenomic design discussions and contribute to the economic modeling of protocols.
• Contribute to technical documentation and community engagement efforts.
• Ensure the robust functioning and security of deployed DeFi protocols.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience developing smart contracts using Solidity and frameworks like Hardhat or Truffle.
• In-depth understanding of DeFi concepts, including AMMs, lending protocols, stablecoins, and yield optimization strategies.
• Experience with blockchain analysis tools and security best practices for smart contracts.
• Familiarity with common DeFi exploits and mitigation techniques.
• Strong knowledge of Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and its intricacies.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language like JavaScript, Python, or Go.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, fast-paced, and collaborative team environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
