Job summary

Placements24 in Richards Bay is seeking a DeFi Engineer to design, build, and maintain decentralized finance protocols on the blockchain. You will work with Solidity and EVM-compatible chains to deliver robust smart contracts and scalable backend components for DeFi applications.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define roadmaps, perform rigorous testing and security audits, and monitor deployed protocols to implement upgrades and optimizations.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing and deploying smart contracts, especially DeFi.
• Strong knowledge of Solidity and EVM-compatible chains.
• Understanding of DeFi economics and financial markets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement secure DeFi smart contracts for lending, borrowing, and DEX.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement secure and efficient smart contracts for various DeFi applications, including lending, borrowing, and decentralized exchanges.

• Conduct rigorous testing and security audits of smart contracts and applications to prevent vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define product roadmaps and features.

Requirements

• Proven experience in developing and deploying smart contracts, particularly in the DeFi space.
• Proficiency in smart contract development languages such as Solidity and familiarity with EVM-compatible chains.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, economic principles, and the intricacies of decentralized finance.
• Experience with relevant development tools and frameworks (e.g., Truffle, Hardhat, Ethers.js).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
