This vital role involves overseeing the safety, well-being, and engagement of primary school children during the crucial after-school hours. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating a positive and structured environment where children can relax, socialize, and participate in enriching activities. You will be instrumental in providing a secure space that bridges the gap between the end of the school day and when parents or guardians collect their children. This position requires a blend of supervision, activity planning, and excellent communication with both children and parents. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children attending the aftercare program.
• Organize and facilitate a variety of age-appropriate recreational and educational activities, including homework assistance.
• Manage daily routines, such as snack time, play, and quiet activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly aftercare environment.
• Effectively communicate with parents regarding their child's day, behaviour, and any concerns.
• Uphold the school's policies and procedures, including those related to child safety and discipline.
• Handle minor first aid incidents and administer medication as authorized by parents and school policy.
• Liaise with school administration and teachers regarding student attendance and well-being.
• Promote positive social interaction and conflict resolution among children.
• Keep accurate records of attendance and any incidents that occur.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a childcare setting, preferably with primary school-aged children.
• A strong understanding of child supervision and safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to plan and lead engaging activities.
• Patience, responsibility, and a caring attitude towards children.
• Proficiency in English; proficiency in Setswana is an advantage.
• Basic first aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain it.
• A clear criminal record check.
• Residency in or near Rustenburg, North West, ZA , with reliable transportation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage groups of children effectively.
