Job summary

Interstat Stationery (Pty) Ltd, a leading South African stationery supplier, seeks an experienced Debtors Controller to join the Finance Department in Durban. You will manage the debtors’ book, oversee credit control, allocate payments, and provide timely financial reporting to management.

The role requires strong credit risk awareness, high accuracy, and collaboration with customers and branch managers to resolve discrepancies. This is an on-site position within a growing national distributor.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing debtors and credit control processes.
• Ability to prepare and analyse debtors reports for management.
• Proven track record in accurate payment allocations and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the debtors book and follow up on outstanding accounts.
• Process and allocate customer payments, bank receipts and discounts accurately.
• Review age analysis reports and monitor credit exposure per policy.
• Assess and approve credit applications within delegated authority.
• Liaise with customers, sales reps and branches to resolve queries and discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly age analysis and debtor-related management reports.
