Geely Auto South Africa seeks a Dealer Development Operations Manager/Specialist to lead the automotive sales channel strategy, dealer development, and ongoing channel management. The role requires Matric (Grade 12) or above and 3–5 years in automotive dealer environments, with strong communication, negotiation, and planning skills.

  • Monitor dealer performance and implement improvement plans.
  • Lead channel management team (if in Manager role) and align with departments.
  • Manage channel budget, resources, and risk, ensuring alignment with strategy.

Job description

The role of the Dealer Development Operations Manager/Specialist will primarily be focusing on the management of automotive sales channels (such as dealers, 4S stores, E-commerce platforms, etc.). The main responsibilities are as follows:

1. Channel Strategy and Development
  • Develop Channel Strategy: Formulate the development plan for the Sales Channel (Dealer) based on the overall company strategies, including the layout of the dealer network, channel structure optimization, etc.
  • Expand New Channels (Dealer): Explore new sales channels, such as new dealers, online e-commerce platforms, direct sales models, etc., to expand the brand's coverage.
  • Dealer Management: Responsible for selecting, evaluating, and developing dealers, ensuring they meet the company’s standards and requirements.
2. Channel Management and Maintenance
  • Dealer Support: Provide operational support to dealers, including sales, marketing, training, inventory management, etc., to help improve their operational capabilities.
  • Maintain Channel Relationships: Maintain good communication with dealers, 4S stores, and other partners, resolve issues encountered in cooperation, and ensure stable channel operations.
  • Channel Regulation Management: Oversee the operations of dealers to ensure compliance with the company's brand image, sales policies, and operating standards.
3. Setting and Achieving Sales Targets
  • Sales Planning: Formulate channel sales plans based on company targets, clearly define sales tasks and goals.
  • Promotions and Support: Plan and execute promotional activities, exhibitions, and customer activities to enhance sales performance.
  • Increase Channel Sales: Analyze sales data from dealers, identify problems, and propose improvement suggestions to help dealers increase sales.
4. Dealer Performance Management
  • Performance Evaluation: Regularly assess dealers' sales performance, customer satisfaction, inventory management, etc., to evaluate their performance.
  • Improvement Plans: Based on evaluation results, create improvement plans to help dealers enhance their overall capabilities.
  • Incentive Mechanisms: Develop incentive policies (such as sales rewards, regional competitions, etc.) to motivate dealers' sales enthusiasm.
5. Market and Competitor Analysis
  • Market Research: Collect market data, analyze competitors' channel strategies, pricing strategies, promotion, etc., and understand industry trends.
  • Optimize Channel Strategy: Adjust channel strategies in a timely manner based on market changes to ensure the company maintains its competitive.
6. After-Sales Service and Customer Satisfaction Management
  • After-Sales Support: Coordinate with the after-sales service department to provide technical support, training, and spare parts service to dealers, improving customer satisfaction.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Establish and maintain customer relationships through dealers, collect customer feedback, and improve service procedures.
7. Team Building and Training
  • Dealer Training: Regularly provide trainings for dealers in product knowledge, sales skills, service processes, etc., to improve their professionalism.
  • Internal Team Management (only applicable for Manager role): Lead the channel management team, set clear team goals, and enhance team collaboration and execution capabilities.
8. Budget and Resource Management
  • Channel Budget Planning: Develop budgets for channel promotion, training, etc., and ensure the proper use of budget.
  • Resource Allocation: Reasonably allocate company resources (such as promotion funds, training resources, etc.) across different channels to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Channel Risk Control: Identify potential risks in channel operations (such as poor dealer management, market changes, etc.), and develop coping strategies.
  • Inventory Management: Assist dealers in controlling inventory reasonably to avoid excess stock or shortages.
  • Department Coordination: Collaborate closely with marketing, product, after-sales, finance, and other departments to ensure that channel strategies align with the overall company strategies.
  • Information Sharing: Report channel dynamics to the company in a timely manner, provide requirements and issues of dealers and market.
Requirements:

1. Matric (Grade 12) above

2. Minimum 3 /5 years of Automotive industry experiences at a senior/Medium level with Dealer experiences ESSENTIAL

3. Familiarity with motor industry’s rules and regulations

4. Result driven and customer focused

5. Excellent communication and people skills

6. Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines

7. Excellent sales and negotiation skills

8. Good planning and organizational skills

9. Good business sense

10. Local Travel within SA will be required
