Job summary

The South African Breweries (SAB) is seeking a maintenance technician for our Gauteng plant. The role focuses on maintaining, repairing and optimising plant and related devices to ensure high availability and quality while controlling costs.

Key responsibilities include safe operations, performing maintenance, equipment optimisation, communication of technical knowledge, and mentoring operators. A trade qualification and post-trade experience are valued for success in this role.

Qualifications

• N4 Technical qualification or higher is required.
• Trade Test qualification Electrical or Millwright is required.
• Packaging experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, healthy, risk-free working environment.
• Perform maintenance and repair of plant and associated devices.
• Operate and maintain machines in the brewing process.
• Optimise plant, process equipment and systems.
• Ensure maintenance tasks are completed to standards.
• Standby duty as per roster.
• Communicate technical knowledge to team.
• Train and mentor operators.

The key purpose of this role is to maintain, repair and optimise plant and associated devices to ensure plant availability and product quality at minimum cost without sacrificing standards.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe, healthy, risk-free working environment
• Perform maintenance
• Maintain and repair plant & associated devices
• Operate and maintain all machines & associated devices in the Brewing process
• Optimise plant, process equipment & systems
• Ensure that maintenance tasks are completed appropriately
• Standby duty required as per roster
• Communicate technical knowledge
• Train, coach, and mentor operators

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum N4 Technical qualification or higher
• Trade Test qualification Electrical/Millwright
• Experience in Packaging would be advantageous
• Summatively assessed in current role would be advantageous
• 2 year’s post trade test experience would be advantageous
