Job summary

SAB is seeking an Operator for its packaging operations in South Africa. The role involves operating and monitoring packaging equipment, interpreting the production plan for each shift, and ensuring quality and productivity while maintaining a safe work environment.

Candidates should have a Grade 12/S4, a National Diploma or equivalent, and relevant mechanical/electrical qualifications. Experience with PIMS/POMS is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or Senior 4 is required.
• National Diploma or equivalent (external) preferred.
• IOB Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical fields.
• Mechanical aptitude and machine-specific experience expected.
• Technical qualification (N3 or similar) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging equipment and manage associated processes.
• Interpret and implement production plan for each shift.
• Operate manual and automatic machines per standards.
• Ensure process quality and productivity.
• Track and monitor processes; take corrective action as needed.
• Manage PIMS & POMS and address negative trends.
• Contribute to AB reports as required.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Communicate with customers and suppliers.

Key Purpose

The Key Purpose of this role is to maintain a safe working environment. As an Operator you are tasked with operating and managing process control for the equipment and manage associated processes. As an Operator you are also responsible for the maintenance of plant & equipment, problem solving, autonomous operations, quality control and analysis.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Operating equipment and manage associated processes & performance in packaging
• Interpret and implement production plan for shift
• Operate manual and automatic machines online as per standards
• Ensure process quality and productivity
• Perform administration work such as tracking and monitoring of processes and take action when required
• Manage PIMS & POMS and take corrective action on negative trends
• Use of OFR s (As per triggers)
• Contribute towards AB reports as required
• Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment
• Packaging process operation

• In depth cleaning and first level maintenance
• Communication with customers and suppliers
