Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking an Intermediate Database Administrator in Sandton to manage data warehouse environments, install and test complex databases, and contribute to database design and security.

You will identify business requirements, document technical specs, back up data, and provide technical support under guidance from senior colleagues. Matric is required, MCSE in SQL 2016 is advantageous, with a minimum of four years in data warehousing. This is an on-site role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in data warehouse management.
• MCSE in SQL 2016 is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Identify business requirements.
• Collect business requirements using interviews, documents, workshops, and workflow analysis to express requirements for target user roles and goals.
• Create and review database specifications to ensure standards and data integrity.
• Install and test complex databases and related products to meet customer requirements.
• Implement and monitor information security measures such as firewalls or encryption.
• Create and maintain technical/user documentation and ensure data backups for instant recovery.
• Manage basic aspects of the data management system under guidance from seniors.
• Design distribution of database resources and provide physical modeling and tuning for performance.
