FNB South Africa invites you to join a team that designs and implements quantitative analytical methodologies to tackle financial crime challenges. You will plan, build, optimise and implement advanced models to provide insights that support business strategy, with guidance as needed.

As part of the talent team, you will collaborate with risk, technology and business units, mentor junior data scientists, and apply SAS, SQL and Python to manipulate data, develop robust governance and deliver

Qualifications

Honours degree in Mathematics, Statistics, CS, Actuarial Science, Engineering, Physics, or related field.
2+ years hands-on experience developing analytical models in financial services.
Strong scripting skills in SAS, SQL and Python.

Responsibilities

Deliver on model development, implementation and governance for financial crime analytics.
Identify analytical opportunities and solve unstructured problems with minimal guidance.
Translate technical solutions into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Deliver clear technical documentation for models and processes.
Collaborate with business, risk, and tech teams to drive model effectiveness and compliance.
Support junior Data Scientists in developing technical and business skills.
Apply SAS, SQL, and Python scripting for data manipulation and modelling.
Uphold model governance standards and participate in monitoring reviews.
Demonstrate initiative in high-stakes, regulated environments.
