Job summary

FirstRand's FNB is seeking a Data Scientist I to build, optimise and implement quantitative analytics, models and insights to support business strategy. You will work on customer engagements, segmentation and data feature engineering within FR Life Assurance, analysing large data sets and translating business needs into analytical solutions.

The role focuses on data management, analytics, and robust modelling, requiring SAS and SQL proficiency, plus Python or R familiarity.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualification: B Degree in Mathematical Sciences, Statistics, Actuarial Science or related degree
• Preferred Qualification: Honours Degree
• Experience: 1 - 2 years' experience within Data Analytics or Customer Analytics
• Experience in Model development, maintenance and optimisation of existing models will be advantageous.
• Intermediate level of proficiency to code in SQL is required
• Intermediate level of proficiency to code in SAS will be advantageous
• Intermediate skills in Python or R would be beneficial
