Job summary

Boardroom Appointments in Stellenbosch seeks a Data Engineer II for Enterprise to help design and develop new apps and systems in the Data and Analytics space. You will analyse business and system data to deepen understanding and support solution design efforts.

Ideal candidates hold IT/Data Analysis qualifications with 6+ years MIS/data analysis experience, strong ETL, data warehousing, SQL Server, AWS, Python, and open-source tools. Strong communication and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary IT or Data Analysis qualification required.
• Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing.
• Proven MIS / data analysis experience and strong data management lifecycle skills.
• Knowledge of SQL Server and AWS environments is expected.

About the job Data Engineer II: Enterprise

Key purpose:

To contribute to the design and development of new applications / systems to meet the business requirements of the Data and Analytics (D&A) environment.

To analyse business or system requirements and data to enhance understanding of the D&A environment.

To participate in and provide input to the Architect during the compilation of solution design documentation for new and existing D&A products and systems.

Qualifications and experience:

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or Data Analysis
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology - Computer Science or Data Analysis
• ETL processes
• Rational database system and cloud data warehousing
• Standards and governance
• Testing practices
• Data analysis and design
• Data architecture (technical design and implementation processes)
• Banking business model
• Best practices for Quality Assurance (QA)
• At least 6 years proven experience within management information systems / systems analysis together with a relevant 3 year tertiary qualification
• At least 6 - 8 years proven experience within management information systems / system analysis
• SQL Server and / or business intelligence tools (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
