This role sits at the intersection of Data Engineering and Data Analytics, with a strong focus on building reliable, scalable and performant data models and data assets that enable effective reporting and decision-making.
The ideal candidate will have strong SQL and data modelling experience, a solid understanding of analytics engineering principles, and experience developing production-grade data solutions within modern data environments.
Bachelor's or Honours degree in Data, Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related technical discipline.
Proven experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering or a closely related role.
Strong experience in SQL and data modelling.
Practical experience with data warehousing and dimensional modelling.
Experience developing and productionising data models, reports or analytical data assets using software engineering principles.
Experience with CI/CD, version control and data testing frameworks.
Experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow, Prefect or similar.
Understanding of data governance, data quality and production support.
Experience working with cloud data platforms.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
We're looking for someone who can operate beyond simply writing SQL — someone who understands how data should be structured, transformed, tested and delivered for analytical use.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, making technical decisions, influencing data modelling and architecture discussions, and helping improve the overall quality and efficiency of the data environment.
