Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a data engineer on a 6-month contract in Johannesburg to design and implement scalable ETL pipelines, build data models, and migrate data across ERP and database platforms. You will work with Azure Data Factory, SAP Data Services, and SQL environments, collaborating with multiple teams to deliver reliable analytics capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or related field.
• Certifications in SAP or Microsoft Azure preferred.
• Certified Data Engineer or similar certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Creates data models in a structured format for analysis.
• Designs and develops scalable ETL packages from source systems.
• Transforms object and data models into database schemas within constraints.
• Follows installation standards to produce database components.
• Creates test scenarios and participates in testing for data transformations.
• Runs data migrations across databases and ERP systems (MS Dynamics, Oracle, SAP).
• Collaborates with IT and business teams to define data structures.
• Documents ETL processes and migration activities.
• Engages stakeholders to evaluate data requirements and improvements.
• Assists with scoping, requirements, and prioritization for changes.
