Job summary

Teraco Data Environments is seeking a Data Centre Technician to ensure the safe, reliable operation of the data centre facilities in Western Cape. The role emphasizes electrical expertise, HVAC oversight, and day-to-day monitoring and maintenance across critical infrastructure.

The position requires a trade-tested electrician with experience in industrial electrical systems; strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.

Qualifications

• Trade Tested Red Seal Electrician required.
• Knowledge of industrial control systems is advantageous.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, repair and maintain electrical distribution, control, fire, generator, HVAC and UPS systems.
• Provide electrical SME support to a larger team of technicians.
• Perform planned and preventative maintenance of data center infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve faults to minimise downtime.
• Support installation, commissioning and acceptance for new plant and equipment.
• Regularly inspect and ensure day-one condition of plant and environments.
