Job summary

DeARX is seeking an experienced Data & Analytics Engineer for a 12-month contract in South Africa. The role involves designing, building and maintaining data models and pipelines, ensuring data quality and governance, and collaborating with Data Engineers, Architects, Modelers and stakeholders.

Mentoring junior team members is also expected. You will apply data modelling, data vault and dimensional techniques, develop APIs, and support self-service data capabilities while aligning with

Qualifications

• 3-6 years' experience in Data Analytics, Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering or a related field.
• Experience supervising, mentoring or guiding junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable data models, schemas and data architectures.
• Translate business requirements into data products, data flows, contracts and acceptance criteria.
• Build, automate, monitor and optimise data pipelines across multiple data sources.
• Perform data testing, profiling, validation and reconciliation to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Develop and maintain APIs in collaboration with Data and Software Engineers.
• Implement data lineage, metadata and governance across the data lifecycle.
• Support self-service data and improve user access to trusted, governed data.
• Ensure solutions align with Data Management frameworks, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Apply Relational, Dimensional, Data Vault and Object-Oriented modelling principles.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver effective data solutions.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior Analytics Engineers.
