Placements24 is seeking an elite Cybersecurity Threat Hunter to join a globally distributed team in a fully remote role. You will proactively hunt for advanced threats, analyze large datasets for IOCs/IOAs, and develop custom detections while collaborating with incident response to contain threats.

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years in cybersecurity focusing on threat hunting, IR or advanced threat analysis.
• Deep understanding of attacker TTPs and defense evasion techniques.
• Proficiency with SIEM, EDR, network forensics and log analysis.
• Scripting knowledge (Python/PowerShell) for data analysis and automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute proactive threat hunting hypotheses using threat intel and environmental anomalies.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an elite Cybersecurity Threat Hunter to join their globally distributed security team. This is a fully Remote position, offering you the opportunity to work from anywhere while proactively searching for advanced threats and sophisticated adversaries that may have bypassed existing security defenses. You will utilize cutting-edge tools, deep technical knowledge, and creative methodologies to uncover hidden threats within our client's complex environment. This role is critical for staying ahead of emerging threats and requires a highly skilled, curious, and analytical individual.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute proactive threat hunting hypotheses based on threat intelligence, adversary TTPs, and environmental anomalies.
• Utilize advanced security tools, including SIEM, EDR, network traffic analysis, and forensic tools, to investigate potential intrusions.
• Analyze large datasets to identify indicators of compromise (IOCs) and indicators of attack (IOAs).
• Discover and document previously unknown threats, malware, and attack techniques.
• Develop custom detection rules, scripts, and tools to aid in threat hunting operations.
• Collaborate closely with incident response teams to effectively contain and remediate discovered threats.
• Stay abreast of the latest advanced persistent threats (APTs), malware trends, and attack methodologies.
• Share threat intelligence and findings with the broader security team to enhance overall defensive capabilities.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of threat hunting methodologies and playbooks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a significant focus on threat hunting, incident response, or advanced threat analysis.
• Deep understanding of attack vectors, adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
• Proficiency with SIEM platforms, EDR solutions, network forensics tools, and log analysis.
• Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for data analysis and automation.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and network protocols.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Superior communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully Remote environment.
• Relevant advanced certifications (e.g., GCTI, GREM, OSCP) are highly advantageous.
