Placements24 is seeking a proactive Cybersecurity Threat Hunter for a fully remote role. You will hunt for advanced threats, analyze security telemetry, and develop detections to strengthen the security posture.

Qualified candidates have 4+ years in cybersecurity operations, understanding of MITRE ATT&CK, and strong analytical skills in a remote, globally distributed security team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years in cybersecurity operations, incident response, or threat intel.
• Experience with threat hunting, malware analysis, and forensics.
• Proficiency with SIEM/EDR tools and scripting languages.
• Strong knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and attacker TTPs.
• Excellent analytical and remote-work skills.

Responsibilities

• Proactively hunt for advanced threats (APTs) and sophisticated malware across the enterprise network.

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a proactive and analytical Cybersecurity Threat Hunter to join their elite, fully remote security operations team. This role is at the forefront of defensive cybersecurity, focusing on identifying and neutralizing advanced threats that may evade existing security controls. You will employ creative methodologies and cutting-edge tools to proactively search for malicious activities within the organization's network and systems, ensuring our client's digital fortress remains impenetrable. Key Responsibilities

• Proactively hunt for advanced persistent threats (APTs) and sophisticated malware across the enterprise network using various tools and techniques.
• Develop and refine threat hunting hypotheses based on threat intelligence, forensic data, and security telemetry.
• Analyze security alerts, logs, and network traffic for signs of compromise or malicious activity.
• Create detection rules, scripts, and tools to automate threat hunting processes and improve detection capabilities.
• Collaborate with the Security Operations Center (SOC) and incident response teams to investigate and remediate identified threats.
• Document hunting methodologies, findings, and recommendations clearly and concisely for technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in cybersecurity operations, incident response, or threat intelligence.
• Demonstrated expertise in threat hunting methodologies, malware analysis, and digital forensics.
• Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM (Splunk, ELK), EDR (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne), network analysis tools (Wireshark), and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell).
• Strong understanding of attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to operate effectively in a fully remote environment.
