Rosebank College in South Africa seeks a lecturer to teach cybersecurity and related information security modules. The role involves engaging students, preparing assessments, and tracking results within the Central Academic Team framework.

You will contribute to academic development and support diverse learners. Requirements include one or two Master’s degrees (NQF Level 9) in IT/security fields, 2–3 years of lecturing or tutoring, and relevant industry or HE experience.

Qualificações

• Master's degree (NQF Level 9) in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computing or a closely related discipline.
• A master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in a business-related field with an information technology or information system module or research that includes information technology or information systems.
• Lecturing/tutoring experience: Lecturing experience in cybersecurity, information security, network security, application security and/ or computer security.
• Work experience: Relevant Higher Education teaching experience and/or industry experience in cybersecurity, including security governance, cyber risk management, digital forensics, security operations, network and cloud security, incident response, penetration testing, secure systems architecture, or cybersecurity strategy.
• 2 to 3 years Lecturing or Formal Tutoring.
• 1 to 3 years of industry-specific experience in area of specialisation will be advantageous.
• One NQF level higher than the qualification being taught.
• Copy of academic transcript.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver lectures and engage students based on module-specific requirements in line with module pacers.
• Manage resources including academic materials and consulting with the Information Centre
• Update learning management system and provide feedback to students.
• Engage and prepare students for assessments, identify at risk students, and develop assessments in accordance with Central Academic Team briefings.
• Monitor student engagement as well as assessment submission with relevant escalation.
• Attend and participate in academic meetings across all faculties.
• Reflect on, review, and analyse student module result.
• Support the monitoring of at-risk student in modules assigned to lecture.
• Academic Professional Development: complete a set number of academic professional development interventions per academic cycle (one year) that contribute to the improvement of the Brand’s Teaching-Learning practice and personal professional academic status.
