Job summary

Rosebank College, part of The Independent Institute of Education, invites applications for a lecturer to teach cybersecurity and related IT modules to undergraduate students in Cape Town.

The role includes delivering lectures, preparing assessments, supporting at‑risk students, updating the LMS, and collaborating with the Central Academic Team to analyse results and improve teaching practice. A Master’s degree in a relevant field and prior higher education teaching experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Lecturing experience in cybersecurity, information security, network security, application security and/or computer security.
• 2 to 3 years lecturing or formal tutoring.
• 1 to 3 years of industry-specific experience in area of specialisation (advantageous).
• Copy of academic transcript.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and engage students based on module requirements.
• Update learning management system and provide feedback to students.
• Prepare assessments and study at-risk students with Central Academic Team input.
• Monitor and analyse student module results to evaluate performance.
• Attend and participate in academic meetings across faculties.
• Reflect on, review, and analyse student results to drive improvement.
• Support monitoring of at-risk students in assigned modules.
• Complete academic professional development interventions per cycle.
