Job summary

MVG Recruitment is seeking an experienced CSSD Manager for a leading private hospital in Cape Town. You will oversee operations of the Central Sterile Services Department, ensuring compliance with infection prevention, sterilisation and quality standards, while providing leadership to the CSSD team.

The role requires SANC registration as a professional/general nurse, a minimum of 5 years in CSSD/Theatre with leadership experience, and willingness to work flexi hours including night shifts.

CSSD Manager

Location: Cape Town

A leading private hospital in Cape Town is seeking an experienced CSSD Manager to oversee the effective functioning, quality, and operational management of a busy Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD). The successful candidate will provide leadership to the CSSD team while ensuring compliance with infection prevention, sterilisation, quality, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the daily operations of the CSSD unit.
• Ensure quality assurance of theatre packs and sterilisation processes.
• Maintain infection control, hygiene, SHEQ, and sterilisation standards.
• Lead, develop, and manage CSSD staff performance.
• Control departmental equipment, stock, and budget.
• Promote effective multidisciplinary collaboration and service delivery.

Requirements:

1. SANC registered as a professional/general nurse.
2. Minimum 5 years’ experience in CSSD/Theatre and leadership/managerial experience.
3. Previous staff management and conflict management experience.
4. Advanced SAFMED CSSD course(advantageous).
5. Willing to work to the flexi-hour system including night shift.
