Job summary

First Recruitment Group seeks a CS&A Responsible Engineer to hold full technical accountability for Civil, Structural & Architectural engineering within an assigned area, ensuring safety, compliance and fit-for-purpose delivery across the project lifecycle in Warrington.

The role requires technical leadership, governance and engagement with project teams, regulators and assurance bodies in a highly regulated environment. Chartered Engineer status and nuclear safety training are desirable.

Qualifications

• Strong CS&A engineering background in regulated, safety-critical environments.
• Proven experience with technical accountability and engineering decision-making responsibilities.
• Experience establishing governance, assurance and verification processes.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent with a recognised professional body.
• Degree in Civil, Structural & Architectural Engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive CS&A experience suitable for undertaking the responsibilities of a Responsible Engineer.
• Postgraduate qualification in engineering or management.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and direction for CS&A engineering activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, engineering standards and safety requirements.
• Establish and maintain governance, assurance and verification processes.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and support resolution of complex technical issues.
• Interface with project teams, regulators and assurance bodies to support successful project delivery.
• Promote and maintain a culture of safety, quality and compliance.
• Provide technical oversight across all stages of project delivery from concept to commissioning.
• Manage engineering deviations, non-conformances and continuous improvement activities.
