Crew Life at Sea Ltd. is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to assist the Head Chef aboard a cruise ship, ensuring exceptional food quality and service while maintaining safety standards.

You will lead kitchen staff, plan menus, and supervise daily operations in a fast-paced marine environment. Ideal candidates will have leadership experience in a cruise ship or luxury hotel, strong organizational skills, and solid knowledge of international cuisine and food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior kitchen role (Sous Chef or similar).
• Cruise ship or luxury hotel experience preferred.
• Knowledge of international cuisine and food safety standards.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills required.
• Good English communication skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations and menu planning.
• Supervise, train, and coordinate kitchen staff.
• Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
• Monitor food stock, inventory, and portion control.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and HACCP food safety standards.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served on schedule.
• Minimise food waste and control kitchen costs.
• Monitor kitchen equipment and report maintenance issues.
• Ensure compliance with onboard health and safety procedures.
