Job description

The Creative Studio Manager will lead the day‑to‑day operations of MRI Software's Creative Studio, managing a team of Multimedia Designers based in South Africa who deliver graphic design, video production, and PowerPoint design output for teams across the global organisation. This role is responsible for managing the creative request queue, overseeing capacity and prioritisation, and acting as the primary project manager for studio delivery. Working in close partnership with the Creative Director, the Creative Studio Manager will ensure the studio executes against creative direction and brand standards efficiently and consistently, translating the Creative Director's vision into well‑organised, on‑time delivery across all output types. The Creative Studio Manager bridges creative leadership and operational execution, providing the team structure, workflow discipline, and stakeholder coordination that enables the Creative Studio to function as a reliable, high‑quality global delivery function. Success in this role will be measured by the quality and consistency of creative output, on‑time delivery rates, team performance and development, and stakeholder satisfaction with the Creative Studio as a delivery partner.

  • Establish and maintain robust team structures and creative processes to ensure consistent, high‑quality output across all media types.
  • Monitor team performance and development, ensuring the studio remains a reliable and efficient global resource.
  • Own the creative request queue, acting as the primary point of entry for all design and production needs across the global business.
  • Masterfully balance incoming demand with team bandwidth, making strategic decisions on sequencing and resource allocation.
  • Act as the lead Project Manager for the studio, owning timelines, milestones, and the final delivery of all multimedia projects.
  • Work in lockstep with the Creative Director to ensure all execution aligns with overarching brand standards and creative direction.
  • Serve as the primary operational contact for global teams, managing expectations and maintaining high levels of satisfaction through clear communication.
  • Effectively translate complex creative briefs into actionable tasks, ensuring the team stays aligned with global organizational goals.
Requirements
  • Professional Background: 6–10 years in creative production, studio management, or marketing operations, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role.
  • Creative Literacy: Deep understanding of graphic design, video production, and presentation workflows to effectively brief teams and review output.
  • Production Management: Proven experience managing a creative studio or agency‑style environment, specifically overseeing high‑volume intake and capacity planning.

  • Technical Proficiency: Hands‑on experience with project management and workflow tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, Workfront) to drive operational clarity.
  • Creative Mentorship: Ability to lead and develop a team of creative professionals, balancing individual career growth with high‑quality collective output.
  • Operational Discipline: Skilled at fostering a studio culture that values both creative ambition and strict delivery accountability.
  • Conflict Resolution: Comfortable navigating the tension between creative quality and delivery speed, finding practical solutions that satisfy both.
  • Decisive Prioritization: Confident in managing competing demands and communicating prioritization decisions clearly to stakeholders.
  • Strategic Bridge: Effectively translates vision from creative leadership into actionable execution for the broader business.
  • Process Architecture: A systematic thinker who enjoys building workflows, improving efficiencies, and creating structure out of ambiguity.
  • Stakeholder Mastery: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to manage expectations and maintain trust across a matrixed organization.
  • Resilience & Focus: Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure, maintaining a positive team environment within a fast‑paced production pipeline.
