Job summary

Coslab in Cape Town is seeking a Production & Raw Material Planner to join our cosmetics manufacturing team. This hands-on role is ideal for someone highly organized, detail-oriented and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

You will forecast raw material requirements, purchase and follow up with suppliers, plan manufacturing schedules for compounders, and maintain batch records and formulations. Proficiency in Excel and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in production planning, raw material planning, procurement or manufacturing, preferably within cosmetics, personal care, FMCG or a similar environment.
• Strong numerical and administrative skills; proficient in Excel.
• Attention to detail when handling formulations, quantities and production documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and forecast raw material requirements based on production requirements and stock levels.
• Purchase raw materials and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor raw material availability and identify potential shortages before they impact production.
• Plan manufacturing schedules for compounders.
• Prepare and issue Batch Manufacturing Records for production.
• Type and maintain product formulas and manufacturing documentation accurately.
• Assist with costings for new product development.
• Work closely with Production, Procurement, Quality and Product Development teams.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure all planning and production documentation is up to date.
