Job summary

Abantu Staffing Solutions in South Africa seeks a qualified conveyancer to join our King William's Town practice. You will manage a conveyancing portfolio from instruction to registration, drafting and finalising documents, and liaising with Deeds Office and clients to progress transactions.

The ideal candidate has an LLB, admission as Attorney and Conveyancer, 3+ years of experience, and a strong knowledge of Deeds Office procedures.

Qualifications

  • Must have Grade 12/Matric and an LLB degree.
  • Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa and admitted Conveyancer.
  • 3+ years' experience in a similar conveyancing role.
  • Sound knowledge of Deeds Office procedures.
  • Willingness to be trained and mentored within the practice.
  • Valid driver's license; own vehicle advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a conveyancing portfolio from instruction to registration, with support from senior conveyancers.
  • Draft, check and finalise conveyancing documentation for lodgement.
  • Liaise with the Deeds Office in King William's Town on lodgements, queries and rejections.
  • Liaise with clients, estate agents, banks and other conveyancers on transaction progress.
  • Handle correspondent conveyancing instructions from other parts of the country.
  • Ensure all financial and statutory requirements met prior to lodgement and registration.
  • Attend to sectional title, development and township subdivision transactions as required.
  • Work closely with conveyancing secretaries and support staff in the King William's Town office.
  • Ensure compliance with FICA, POPIA and other relevant legislation throughout the conveyancing process.
  • Attend to any other duties reasonable and incidental to the practice of conveyancing as the firm's needs may require.
