Job summary

Premier FMCG in South Africa seeks a Stock Controller to manage stock movements, verify purchases and oversee clerical warehouse documentation. You will perform regular stock counts, ensure FIFO compliance, and coordinate with data capture, QC and finance to keep records accurate.

The role requires 2 years in distribution/warehousing, a National Senior Certificate, and knowledge of Syspro/DMS. The position is on-site in Krugersdorp with equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate/NQF 4 required.
• Qualifications in Supply Chain & Logistics advantageous.
• Forklift license advantageous.
• 2 years experience in distribution/warehousing.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular stock counts and audits.
• Verify incoming stock and reconcile with POs.
• Coordinate with data capture on transfers and GRNs.
• Dispatch stock according to SOP and monitor outbound stock.
• Collaborate with QC and supervisor on stock quality and material needs.
• Ensure FIFO and stock rotation.
• Report discrepancies to management.
• Maintain inventory accuracy in the ERP system.

Job Purposes

Control movement of stock and supervise the clerical aspects of the documentation. Reviews records compiled from ordering, shipping, and receiving materials. Assess stock supply and reorder status. Verifies requisition of additional stock items, using the appropriate forms.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete daily, weekly, or monthly stock counts as required.
• Complete daily stock of “top “fifty stock items in warehouse.
• Liaise with data capture to check if all transfers and Goods Received Notes (GRN'S) are up to date before submitting physical counts.
• Carry out spot checks and audits.
• Liaise with finance daily and hand physical count of finance.
• Liaise with QC Team daily regarding stock with quality issues and stock issued to sorting team
• Liaise with the supervisor daily regarding raw materials required.
• Check and count all incoming stock and ensure the delivery note balances to the original Purchase Order PO issued.
• Ensure stock checking programmes (whether cyclical or ad hoc) are maintained in the inventory balances with the supply system records.
• Conduct monthly stock take to ensure the stock is effectively controlled and discrepancies are minimized. Report any deviations and /or queries to management.
• Dispatch stock as per the standard working procedure.
• Monitor all outgoing stock using the correct administrative process.

Experience And Qualification

• National Senior Certificate/ NQF Level 4
• Qualifications in Supply Chain & Logistics/Inventory Management would be added as an advantage
• Forklift Driver's License would be added as an advantage
• 2 years experience in Distribution/Supply Chain or Warehousing

• Knowledge in applying FIFO with stock rotation process.
