Job summary

Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure Plc is seeking a Control Room Operator to work on a 12-hour shift, operating the plant per load despatch and weather forecasts. You will monitor equipment, follow standards and communicate issues to the Shift Manager.

Candidates should have Grade 12/N3 with maths and science, plus experience in power plant operations. The role emphasizes safety, analytical thinking and ability to work under pressure in a dynamic, team-focused setting.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/N3 with maths and science is required.
• Experience in operations in a power plant or related industry is preferred.
• Ability to analyze situations and solve problems under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Operate the plant in line with load despatch requirements and weather forecasts.
• Manage equipment and systems following operational standards.
• Attend shift meetings to discuss maintenance progress and issues.
• Follow emergency response and evacuation procedures; complete daily checklists.

We are currently recruiting for a/an Control Room Operator to join our team and contribute to key projects in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• To work on a 12-hour shift system as per the duty roster
• To operate the plant in accordance with load despatch requirements and weather forecast
• Manage equipment and systems following operational standards
• Keep informed about any issues arising by Power Block Operators, Solar Field Operators, and Cleaning Truck Drivers
• Advisory of issues to Shift Manager
• Propose improvements in procedures
• At shift end, attend me etings to discuss maintenance work progress, scheduling problems, near misses, interference issues to name a few
• Follow emergency response and evacuation
  Completing daily operation checklists.
