Job summary

The role covers treasury supervision, audit coordination, tax and SARS submissions, budgeting and forecasting, and close collaboration with department heads to implement internal controls and deliver accurate financial statements.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years' relevant work experience within the short-term insurance industry.
• Strong technical background in short-term insurance.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
• English language proficiency at C1 level or higher.
• Completion of articles.
• Experience with SAP or similar financial reporting software.

Responsibilities

• Financial Management: Prepare month-end files and ensure accuracy and deadlines.
• Technical Accounting: Calculate profit commissions and review reconciliations.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly management accounts and IFRS 17 checks.
• Statutory Compliance & Reporting: Prepare IFRS 17 statements and SARS submissions.
• Planning & Forecasting: Formulate forecasts and budgets, handle ad hoc requests.
• Treasury Supervision: Oversee and review creditors payments for timeliness.
• Audit & Internal Controls: Maintain controls and assist audits; implement recommendations.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with finance and department heads.
