Job summary

Confidential in Cape Town is seeking a Financial Assistant on a fixed-term contract. The role supports statutory reporting and involves IFRS, consolidations, and interaction with external auditors. 1–3 years of relevant experience in financial services/insurance is required.

The candidate will assist with note disclosures, IFRS 17 projects, and holding company statements, while ensuring internal controls and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement - B Compt Accounting (undergraduate completed).
• 1 - 3 years relevant experience in a similar role within financial services and/or insurance industry.

Responsibilities

• Process foreign subsidiary financial results in HFM for monthly reporting, year-end close process and interim review process.
• Assist with cluster financial consolidation including preparation of note disclosures for year-end close process and interim review process.
• Assistance with the compilation of holding company financial statements in terms of IFRS
• Ensure effective controls and procedures are in place, and focus on process improvements
• Interactions with the external auditors
• Assistance with a special project in respect of note disclosures
• Assistance with a special project in respect of IFRS 17
