Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Construction Health and Safety Officer to oversee project sites in Kimberley, Northern Cape. You will develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with SA legislation, promoting a safety-first culture among all site personnel.

The role requires registered SAIOSH status or equivalent, NOSA/NEBOSH certification, and at least three years’ experience in construction health and safety.

Qualifications

• Registered SAIOSH status or equivalent.
• NOSA and/or NEBOSH certification required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction health and safety.
• Thorough knowledge of SA health and safety legislation (OHS Act).
• Excellent communication, report writing and training skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce health and safety plans and procedures on construction sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Investigate accidents and incidents; recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Provide health and safety training to site personnel and management.
• Maintain accurate safety records and documentation, including risk assessments and incident reports.
• Liaise with authorities and regulatory bodies on health and safety matters.
