Job summary

Basil Read is seeking a Construction Safety Compliance Officer to oversee safety on Upington construction sites. You will monitor and audit safety protocols, enforce standards, and drive incident investigations to reduce risk across large-scale projects.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of construction safety experience, a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, and the ability to operate in remote or challenging environments. The role offers full-time employment with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• NEBOSH/IOSH certifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate safety hazards.

• Ensure compliance with OHS legislation and Basil Read’s safety standards.
• Investigate incidents and prepare detailed reports with corrective action plans.
• Collaborate with project managers to integrate safety into project planning.
