Job summary

West Coast Personnel in Cape Town seeks an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to lead construction and property-maintenance projects for UK clients, from home office. You will manage client relationships, prepare quotations, coordinate engineers and subcontractors, and ensure on-time delivery with quality standards.

The role requires strong English communication, cost management discipline, and the ability to work UK hours Monday to Friday from a remote setup with a two-screen workstation.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction or property maintenance roles.
• Experience in roles like Project Manager or Estimator.
• Ability to prepare quotations and manage project costs.
• Strong client-management and customer-service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English.
• Able to communicate with UK-based clients.
• Proactive, accountable, and able to own projects end-to-end.
• Two-screen workstation required.
• UK hours, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
• Identify opportunities for repeat business and additional project work.
• Convert inbound enquiries and leads into ongoing client accounts.
• Conduct outbound engagement, networking and follow-ups to generate new business.
• Track client revenue and account performance.
• Coordinate engineers and subcontractors for site inspections and job scoping.
• Prepare clear, detailed quotations and liaise on pricing with suppliers.
• Follow up quotations and drive quote conversion.
• Ensure quotations are commercially viable and competitively priced.
• Schedule projects and jobs according to requirements, location and availability.
• Issue accurate work instructions to engineers and subcontractors.
• Coordinate materials, site access and client requirements.
• Monitor progress and ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Manage multiple active projects simultaneously.
• Act as the main point of contact and provide regular project updates.
• Review completion photos and job documentation for quality.
• Resolve issues proactively and escalate when needed.
• Ensure work is completed to required standards.
• Ensure completed jobs are invoiced promptly.
• Follow up payments and resolve billing queries.
• Monitor project profitability and payment cycles.
• Work toward revenue, project, quotation and collection targets.
